Our company name, DOPE, is a unique double entendre. For those familiar with slang terminology, it evokes the idea of cannabis; however, its source may surprise you—it's actually an acronym for "data on previous engagement" within the military world!

MIchael Sexton | Founder & CEO
Michael is a professional with experience in the cannabis industry, humbly known not only for technical expertise but also as the Founder and CEO of two cannabis enterprises: DOPE Scientific,LLC and Mile High Genetics.
These two companies have gained valuable experience over nearly a decade of operation.Through his entrepreneurial pursuits, Michael has played a role in the cannabis industry's development, always with a focus on its progress and growth. He maintains a commitment to cannabis advocacy and has had the privilege of collaborating with influential figures in the field.
Michael's journey includes serving as a member of the technical advisory board and contributing to Cannabis Business Times. He has been fortunate to impart his knowledge through lectures at esteemed institutions like the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, where he explored the economics of the cannabis industry and its business development within this emerging sector.
Notably, Michael was honored to be an invitee and guest of Canna-Tech at the world's first international medical cannabis symposium in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He has also actively participated in various events, including the Midwest Canna-Con in Detroit, where he had the privilege of sharing insights with enthusiastic audiences. These engagements have played a significant role in establishing his reputation as a respected figure within the cannabis community.
Previously, Michael served as the Director of Cultivation at Primitiv Group, a renowned cannabis research organization. In this capacity, he managed a substantial cultivation facility and oversaw scientific operations in a meticulously controlled, medical research-grade cannabis environment.
His leadership and expertise made significant contributions to Primitiv Group's success.With over a decade of hands-on experience, Michael possesses a comprehensive understanding of cannabis cultivation practices across the United States. His journey has taken him through various specialized environments, ranging from industrial-scale outdoor production to managing commercial greenhouses, overseeing medical research initiatives, and nurturing craft-brew boutique facilities.
Michael's educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Post-Secondary Education from Shepherd University. His professionalism and outstanding performance have been acknowledged with multiple awards during his service as a Combat Deployed U.S Marine.
Currently, Michael is continuing his pursuit of knowledge and excellence by working toward a graduate degree in Business Management at Harvard University.
His coursework encompass essential areas of business management, including leadership, negotiation, and project management.

BRANDON MESSER | Director of Cultivation & Systems
Brandon is a unique individual with an expansive background in cultivation. He has owned and operated his own construction company for over 10 years, giving him a solid foundation in business.
In addition to his 15 years of cultivation experience, Brandon's understanding of both the biology of the plant as well as the mechanical aspects of cultivation set him in a category of his own.
Brandon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a focus on Plant Pathology from Wayne State University, making him an invaluable asset to the cultivation field. He utilizes real world experiences with the 'question everything' approaches of his science background and brings a unique touch to cultivating at the scientific and industrial levels.
He seeks to add creativity and value to this unique and ever-changing field by applying his expertise in management - ensuring that cultivators everywhere can benefit from his knowledge and experience.
